As the summer break comes to an end, DreamHack will be one of the first organizers to hold a big Counter-Strike event. DreamHack Open Summer 2020 will feature a bunch of exciting teams, where the tournament will be separated into 4 online tournaments based on regions (Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania) due to Covid-19.

But that won't make DreamHack Open Summer 2020 less exciting, as every team will be extremely motivated to start a new season of Counter-Strike by winning the DreamHack Open trophy.

On top of the acclaimed DreamHack Open trophy, the teams will be competing against each other for their share of the big $260,000 USD prize pool.

Tournament format

DreamHack Open Summer 2020 will feature the same type of format for the Group Stage in Europe and North America. While the playoffs are different for the 4 regions.

Group Stage

- The Group Stage will be played according to the Double-Elimination format.

- All matches are BO3.

- The best 2 teams from each group advances to the playoffs.


- Europe and North America will use the Single-Elimination bracket format.

- Asia and Oceania will use the Double-Elimination bracket format.

- All matches are BO3, except the Grand Final in Asia and Oceania, which are BO5 matches
