The ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019 was one of the most anticipated tournaments of all time, and the year 2019 featured fun-packed, thrilling, and incredible matches in the ELEAGUE. The double-elimination format made each match crucial for each team: compLexity, BIG, Cloud9, and FaZe Clan. All these teams competed against each other to earn their share of the $150,000 USD prize pool and showcased an entertaining tournament for the fans.

Action packed start

The ELEAGUE was quite entertaining right from the start, and it featured some great moments. It was a hard-fought victory for Cloud9 close it out 2-0 in maps against FaZe where both maps ended in overtime. On the other hand, BIG managed to win against compLexity, and XANTARES, with his debut, was brilliant with a 1.23 Rating. He showed everyone that he’s a world-class player.

NA Dominates

Coming to the Upper Bracket Final that featured BIG taking on Cloud9, both of the teams were great, and the matches incredibly close, considering Cloud9 managed to win with a 16-14 score on both Cache and Overpass. It was flusha with a rating of 1.32, featuring clutch plays from time to time that gave his team a clear advantage in the fragging department. Cloud9 was unstoppable, and they showed some great team play and thus scored a spot in the Grand Final.

FaZe prevail

The winner of the Lower Bracket final would meet Cloud9 in the Grand Final, where BIG went up against FaZe in a BO3. The first map was Cache, which was in favor of FaZe Clan as they won 16-14, and with the same score, BIG made a huge comeback on train, where they won 16-14. But in the end, FaZe performed exceptionally well, put up some impressive fragging throughout the last map, and scored a 16-10 win with olofmeister as the leading player on his team.

The ELEAGUE Grand Final

FaZe, and Cloud9 faced each other in the grand final, which was their second meeting After won over FaZe earlier in the playoffs, and questions were arising.

Would Cloud9 repeat history by winning against its old rival again? At the start, it seemed that way. FaZe struggled quite a lot against Cloud9, and lost the opening map with a lackluster map score of 3-16. RUSH was unstoppable and led Cloud9 towards a victory with an impressive performance. FaZe was struggling, but they still had hope as Cloud9 had to beat them on Inferno, which they failed to do, and FaZe came back with a vengeance, winning the second map with a 16-12 score.

A winner is crowned

Questions started to rise again. FaZe had tremendous and unbelievable momentum in the first half, with an 11-4 scoreline on the terrorist side on train. It was amazing to see this impressive and top-notch performance by FaZe, considering the map favors the Counter-terrorists. Cloud9 did try to make a comeback, but FaZe was just better than them, resulting in a 16-9 victory. One of the KEY players was GuardiaN, who dominated Cloud9 with his impressive and thrilling AWP skills. In the end, it was FaZe that came out on top and won the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019.
