Netherlands - Europe

Team Liquid is a professional esports team with a multi-regional presence, which started in 2000 in the Netherlands. They originally started as StarCraft 2 competitors, and since then have transformed themselves into a multi-esport organization, taking part in CS:GO, LoL, Dota 2 and other games.

The CS:GO team was born in 2015, composed of a mixture of players from other teams, and since then have made several changes in their roster, trying to find a perfect recipe for the team’s chemistry and success.

Team Liquid’s best world ranking is 1st, where they took down Astralis who held the first place for 407 consecutive days.

Despite their big win they still experience a defeat, when they lost in the finals of ESL One: Cologne 2016, getting defeated by SK Gaming in a spectacular match.

But in 2019, they had nothing but success.

January was a great start of the year for the team, as they went on to win the iBUYPOWER Masters IV, defeating Astralis in the final round.

Later in May of the same year, they captured another title, winning Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Sydney, also taking out team Fnatic.

June was pretty much the same, as they annihilated the competition in DreamHack Masters Dallas. ENCE put up a great fight, but they came up short against the absolutely dominant team Liquid.

During the same month, they added yet another title to their name, winning ESL Pro League Season 9 finals, beating G2 Esports in a spectacular match.

July was a pretty hot year for Team Liquid. They steamrolled through ESL One: Cologne 2019 and captured the 1st spot, destroying team Vitality in the final round.

They continued their streak of wins, capturing another championship ESL Cologne, which also resulted in them winning the Intel Grand Slam Season 2. Which is awarded to a team that’s able to win four of the most prestigious tournaments in a limited amount of time.

They finished off their perfect month by dominating two more tournaments, winning BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019 and Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago.

Team Liquid has earned a great reputation that is not going away any time soon, which is very certain. If they continue to move forward at the same pace, we might be facing the all-time greatest team the world of esports has ever seen.
