NaVi (Natus Vincere)

Ukraine - Europe

NaVi in short for Natus Vincere, which in Latin means “Born to conquer.” NaVi was formed in Ukraine back in 2009, and this esports organization has teams competing in many games such as Dota 2, FIFA, League of Legends and of course CS:GO.

Their Counter-Strike team was the first team in history to win three premier tournaments in one calendar year back in 2010.

At one point during their run they were ranked as 2nd in the world, but since then had taken a huge fall in the rankings.

Their rise to the top started in 2015, where they managed to win their first big title, defeating Team SoloMid in Intel Extreme Masters X – San Jose finals.

The following year was also a success, as they went on to win DreamHack Open Leipzig 2016 by dominating Luminosity Gaming in the final round.

Three months later, they took participation in MLG Major Championship: Columbus. They were able to eliminate everyone who tried to stop them on their way to get to the finals. They fell short to the same opponent from the previous tournament – Luminosity Gaming, having to go home with 2nd place.

In October of the same year, they went on to seize the 1st place in ESL One: New York 2016, defeating Virtus Pro on the final round.

They skipped the entire 2017, but that was not enough for them to cool down.

In 2018, they added another championship to their resume, winning 1st place in StarSeries and i-League CS:GO Season 5 by defeating NRG Esports.

It got followed by another dominant tournament, winning CS:GO Asia Championship 2018, by defeating Virtus Pro once again.

It seemed like there was no way to stop them, as they took another 1st place in ESL One: Cologne 2018 by beating BIG in the final round.

The only team in 2018 to beat them was Astralis, who managed to take the victory in FACEIT Major: London Finals, leaving NaVi with a solid 2nd place.

That did not shake their confidence as they immediately bounced back and won BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen by beating Ninjas in Pyjamas on the final round.

2019 was a little bit quiet for them, as they went on to win just one tournament, StarSeries, and i-League CS:GO Season 7, by defeating Fnatic in the final round.

There is not much left to say about NaVi, their success speaks for themselves. However, it is undeniable that this team has the potential to rise to the very top once again and threaten even the most elite competition.
