iBUYPOWER Masters are still pretty new and have quickly become a great tournament to watch! With great teams participating and a high prize pool, you must watch these tournaments.

iBUYPOWER is an American company that builds gaming PCs and systems and also arranges events for professional gamers, developers, etc.

They once had a professional Counter-Strike team as well, who was one of the best of its region. After some problems with players and VALVE, they haven’t sponsored a CS:GO team since.

Now they are hosting Masters tournaments and other smaller CS:GO tournaments in the United States.

What is special

What’s most special about the iBUYPOWER tournament is that the prize pool is relatively high for an 8-team tournament – 200,000 dollars where half of it goes to the winners.

Many teams see the Masters as “warm-up” tournaments for the big Major tournaments because they often are close to the events and you get to compete against the other teams from the majors.

It is mostly the top of the top teams who join and play the iBUYPOWER Masters.

Tournament format

The tournament is a two-phase competition with group stage and playoffs.

The group stages are played with the double-elimination system and all group stage matches are BO1. There are 2 groups with 4 teams in each and the top 2 teams advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs are played directly from semi-finals and the winners proceed to the grand final. All matches including the final are played BO3.
